1. How does the number of bean passed change as your finger combinations change?
As the class progressed, the rate of bean passing decreased for the first five finger combinations. Then on the last combination, the rate of the bean passing increased. (See chart data below.)
2. What are some conclusions you can develop from looking at this data?
You can interpret that the fore-finger (UR2) and the thumb (UR1) are the best finger combination because that specific finger combination, had the greatest average bean passing of 83.5. The thumb (UR1) and the middle finger (UR3) are the second best combination of fingers to use. From then on you can see that when you can see that as the finger combination changes, the average of bean passing decreases. The last finger combination, UR3-UR4, are an exception since the average number of bean passing is greater than the 4th & 5th finger combination. You can tell that UR3-UR4 are a better finger combination than UR2-UR5 and UR2-UR5.
3. What might 2 or 3 sources of error that occurred during this experiment?
Some errors that might've occurred during performing this experiment are one, dropping the bean during passes, which means the group would have to start from the beginning; they would have to count from one. Two, the group might have miscounted the passes between themselves and their partner. Three, one and/or both of them might be using the wrong finger combinations.
4. How does this lab demonstrate "ADAPTATIONS"?
To adapt is to get used to or change to get used to something or to make changes to get used to your enviroment/surroundings. This lab demonstrates "adaptions" because we usually use the UR1-UR2 finger combination and sometimes use UR3, too. We don't usually use UR4 and UR5 as a finger combination or the UR3 and UR4 finger combination to do daily activities. We didn't learn to adapt to using those fingers. We usually use UR1-UR3 finger combinations to eat, write, etc. If we use the last two fingers, we usually use them with the first three fingers, like for holding objects, we use all five fingers.
